Rancho Bernardo or "RB" is an upscale North County neighborhood that is close enough to San Diego to allow easy access from commuters, but far enough from downtown to have its own identity and community feel. Large houses and estates dot the hillsides. Master planned communities of small houses, condos, and town homes line the golf courses in a beautiful mountain setting. Rancho Bernardo is technically the northernmost residential community in the City of San Diego, but it is very much its own community with a distinct identity. It is home to several well-known corporations and technology companies that employ an estimated 50,000 people.
Luxury homes located on the north side of RB in the neighborhood called The Trails at Rancho Bernardo overlook Lake Hodges with excellent views. There is almost a country club atmosphere with large lots, and quite a few of the home sites are actually horse properties. Residents of Rancho Bernardo homes enjoy wonderful amenities, including tennis, swimming, and golf clubs. Rancho Bernardo real estate development is controlled by a strict set of covenants and restrictions, making the community well maintained and orderly.
